I’ve been experiencing this all year, and I’m turning 40 in May. I find that chewing on ice or drinking ice cold water helps.

Ugh. I’m sorry. I hope you can find some relief. Functional doctors can help. Also get your B vitamins levels checked.

I haven't experienced it...yet. However, I've been reading more about menopause, perimenopause, from Tamsen Fadal, https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEaFaLBO0j5/?igsh=MWQ1ZGUxMzBkMA==

I'm going to the gender store to request a refund. This is like a cruel joke. No wonder we have so much rage.

Wow nope never heard of this, definitely suffering with this. Yes GERD meds help some, ice also does, but honestly I’ve just sort of been dealing with it. Never totally goes away, my mouth is also very dry. Sucrets and elderberry lozenges also help a bit.

Thanks for raising the awareness about this.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with it, Kit. Might want to talk to a hormone specialist and see how your levels look and if there’s some help to be had.

This is fascinating! I'm not at that point yet, but I'm going to be using this as my guide for preparing once I get there. Because, like you said, women’s health needs more research for sure!

Danielle, I'm so happy to hear that I'm catching you early! I wish I had known half this stuff ten years ago. And since more women than you might imagine begin having symptoms in their late 30's, it's NEVER too early to learn about what's coming. I'm so glad you're here.

Perimenopause is the Wild West of a woman's life. We think we're prepared until we aren't. I'm thinking the high amount of anger (rage, anyone?) we suddenly feel gets channeled into helping us overcome some these difficulties. It's probably there to help us advocate for ourselves a little better, to have the energy to find a doctor that actually listens, and so on.

All I can picture in my head right now is "Toooowaaannnnnda!" from *Fried Green Tomatoes.*

I could be completely wrong.

I've not had the burning yet, but I've noticed a metallic taste in my mouth and that sometimes food doesn't taste right.

I don't know if BMS will happen to me in the future, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Thank you for this post. I'd never heard of BMS before.
